Flyoz Checkthat the red "Trigger" wire is connected to the Cars reversing light so when reverse selected 12V ve goes to it. When in forward gears there will be no Voltage

Flyoz I purchased 2 of these neither worked properly hard to see outside and like you switches somettimes did not work. Cheap knockoff.

Flyoz Its amazing what people expect. Tjhis is a great novelty/ fun standby rod that you can easily stow and use on a small fish/ stream.Buy some flies and use it rather than winge about how it doesnt compete with your expectations of a 41000 fly outfit geez

Flyoz There is no rule where the reel needs to be it still works fine as a fly rod if you use the front section of fly line (as it cant hold a whole fly line length.Fly rods only traditionally have the reel at the back for balance 9from the old cane rod days) Carbon rods just followed suit.
