Ok but for the price I feel like you should be able to get 2 or 3 of them. I ordered 2 and although I knew the selection would be random I was disappointed both the ones I got were grey. Some variety would be nice.

You get what you pay for. These are cheap so I figured they would have some rough spots, like from where they attached to the mold (or whatever) during production. Unfortunately it was worse than I expected! I ordered 3 sets. They weren’t protected at all, just in a plastic bag within the mailer. No padding of any kind and they were shipped with planks of craft wood so it’s kind of obvious that these tiny, more fragile items would need some protection. So 3 pieces came broken! One glass has a base so crooked it can’t stand up. Almost all the cups/glasses need to be filed down on the bottoms so they’ll stand upright, because they have the little nub sticking out where they were attached to the mold during production. Most of the cups also have rough, uneven top edges that look cloudy instead of clear. Most of the bowls and plates were as expected. It was really the cups/glasses combined with bad shipping practices that caused problems.

I bought this as a stocking stuffer so I have not put it together yet to see if it works but I am extremely disappointed based on how it looks so far. I know: you get what you pay for and this was super cheap. If it is easy to put together and will fly at all I will raise my rating of it. If it doesn’t fly I will lower the rating. My expectations were based on the rubberband-powered plane kits I built with my dad as a kid. This is not nearly as good as those. The wings are styrofoam or some similar material and came wrinkled in the middle and bent at the tips. From the look of it this is not by design. I suspect it won’t even fly but this has yet to be tested. The words printed on the wings are smeared and the parts inside the bag had ripped several small holes in the packaging. It was not shipped in any kind of reinforced material, just an unpadded plastic mailer. I’m surprised the wood frame and wings didn’t snap in half during transit. Overall, I would be embarrassed to give this even as just a stocking stuffer.

These are cute and essentially as pictured. I have no idea if this is a bargain price for nesting owl dolls, I thought $10 seemed like a mid-range price so maybe wrongfully expected them to be a bit nicer. They have a chalky feel to the paint (to me they feel grimy) the paint looks dirty or smudged in places on each of the owls. There is some kind of dirt or paint smear on the biggest owl’s face, although it’s not enough to totally ruin the look. The second to last owl (smallest one that opens) was painted / stuck shut and I thought I was going to crack it trying to get it open! I was finally able to liberate the tiny owl inside but not without some paint scuffing on the other owl.

I didn’t pay attention when I bought this and I assumed it would be wind-up. It’s not. You have to keep pushing the lever to make it go, which is annoying because the amount of force it takes to push the lever and the light weight of the carousel means that if you don’t hold it, it wouldn’t work. You’d just end up pushing it across the table or whatever. And once you’ve got it going its way too fast to even see the horses. Its just one big blur. I almost didn’t buy this because I felt like $8-9 for this was a bit much and that was when I was expecting a bit more so...yeah.
