Q: Tried to operate one of them with a 18650 without success. Then I used two 18650 in series and the laser worked but was barely visible. Hm... how do you guys/gals, ladies/lads power these up?

BG411117392 The specs indicates that it needs 5 volts and not 3.7 volts. I simply use the cut off end of a USB cable. Strip the cable and find the red and black wires. Hook them up and now you have a laser pointer that lasts for a long time.

Q: I would like to de-focus the laser. How big can the spot be when de-focused?

DaBalloonGuy To defocus the beam, simply unscrew the focusing lens and take it off. The area is very big and spread apart.
