Q: i have the old version of the Tyro79 with the old vtx. It blacks out whenever I give it throttle. I noticed that this quadcopter has been updated to use this new vtx. If I get this new one, will that fix the problem for me? Thx, Terrence

Wilsonk If you are using a 3s (3 cell) battery you may be sagging the voltage below the VTx threshold. A low C rated battery would make the voltage sag worse. I had the original VTx and I would lose VT before the battery was flat. I have not flown this new VTx enough to say if it is any better.

Wilsonk Yes you would. This unit transmits on the amateur bands and you would need the appropriate license.

Q: comes with a 3pin plug so how does it have smart audio??

Wilsonk You can see the connector has 6 connections and the 6 terminals are labeled on the pcb. It is only the cable has 3 wires. This vtx definitely has smart audio. I have it working on my Tyro79 using betaflight.
