Q: Does it only work with Windows? Is there any linux software?

BG539151619 Thesoftware is mostly just a com-port input output wrapper with some graphing. It is possible to use the device on Linux by opening the com port, however the device uses special text commands to configure itself and to send data. Incorrect use of commands can change settings permanently, so beware. I'd recommend to use a Windows VM to record the communication over the port (I used "Device Monitoring Studio" app) and then you can use same commands on linux. The main command which you should need is '{"fun":"05","flag":"1"}' - without single quotes - this triggers data push mode and you should start getting readings every 1 second (default interval). Interval is configurable via a different command. The device is surprizingly also capable of "offline" data logging, for which the interval is also configurable. All of this stuff you can learn by sniffing what the windows app sends to the device when you use various menus. It would be lovely if developers posted the protocol spec so we won't have to guess things, but we've got what we've got...
