DrMichael It's always hard to answer questions line "what is the best" because it depends on what you are looking for. in a library. I assume you are not an expert in embedded programming (since you are asking for advice), so I'd recommend you try the Adafruit library. Adafruit have been a long-time contributor to open source and deserve our support for that. They also code in "the Arduino way" so it should be familiar to most beginners. I am a professional programmer, so I tend to value things like a clean architecture, solid code and low technical debt. Inevitably that means I write my own libraries, but I wouldn't recommend that route to everyone.
