flies very light on the wing loading. the flying weight in the manual is grossly understated. i am using a 3s 1000 battery and still needed to add 5, 1/4oz weights to balance the aft end of the range

is this a trainer: No, here’s why. 1. it does not come with any instructions. Most people buying trainers need something that is almost ready to go, not a box full of parts. It also does not have molded in hinges on the control surfaces. you will have to cut/slot/glue your own CA hinges on. the elevators are split with no hardware or allowance to have a pass though the rudder, it will take a lot of fiddling to get this right. the landing gear is also REALLY tall, like almost impractically tall. I may have to re-bend and shorten it to use larger wheels for grass and have it be reasonable. 2. the design does not lend itself to be self stabilizing. don’t forget back before the days of electronic gyros a trainer had a high dihedral angle to be self stabilizing. this wing is flag. it will never just cruise around, you will always have to fly it and that’s not what a beginner wants. with all this being said, it appears to be a good plane for what you get, it won’t be a throw it together in one night kind of plane. it looks like a bigger version of the MG-800 from last year with a canopy so you don’t have to take the wing off to put the battery in. if it flies descent it will probably end up my ski plane for this winter when the snow shows up.

the plastic parts are 3D printed not molded. the main piece that holds the servos is a horrible design. no 5g servo will fit without significant cutting and hacking. the rest of the plane went together well, there are no instructions. I found some picture instructions for it on another site selling it. the CG is too far aft. By the 30% chord rule the cg should be 2 5/16” from the leading edge which balances perfectly with a 2s 1000 and the recommended motor. I have not flown it yet because I’m waiting for bullet connectors for the speed controller but it passes the glide test and seems light enough it should be a good first plane for my son to fly around

The foam moldings are of a good quality. mine didn’t have both wings and the “interchangeable” hardware. An 11 blade 64mm fan will not fit. The outside of the tube is too big only a EDF with a 66mm od will work. The assembly was straight forward and the setup instructions were clear. the decals are good quality and fit with minimal bubbling. I am excited to try flying it.

this is not a first airplane. it has no self stabilizing tendencies (no dihedral to auto level) so you have to fly it all the time. that being said it is a good second or 3rd airplane depending on your prior skill. I am running mine on a 1650kv motor and 30a esc and 1300mah 3s. I don’t see how you could fit anything bigger in. I started with a ep8060 prop and it was too much, it melted the hot glue holding the esc in. I stepped it down to an apc 7x6E which is better but still too much prop for my combo. I have apc 7x4E props on the way which I think will be just right. I couldn’t get the wood flap to stay glued onto the wing so I am using single #64 bands to hold the wing down. I added 2 1x6mm 500mm long carbon strips in the wing. the receiver is in the pocket for the center servo and I didn’t need any servo extensions. I am using 2.25 inch tires and I think it will handle grass ok. it has snowed for the winter so I am on skis now which it handles good. The springs on the skis have a tendency to nose it over but I need the angle. it has great aerobatic potential and I think it will be a favorite little park Flyer. it’s just the right size to keep around. mine was built with rudder from the start. it doesn’t need it in the air but makes ground handling fun. I added some holes for cooling air and a scoop out of lexan scraps it should help with temperatures along with the prop change.

Q: did anyone figure out how to get the servos to work? I got the motor working by bringing the trim all the way down but no luck on the servos, yet.

Q: The model kit was delivered without a manual. Is a manual download available? I would like to know where the center of gravity is.

BG193217494 I just got mine, no manual. Center of gravity is between 20-30% of the mean aerodynamic chord. Since this is a square wing at the fuselage and calculate the length. Once you have this number it should be on or real close to the spar.

BG193217494 It looks like the floats from the HZ super cub lp would work but a rear mount would need to be fabricated.

the speed control didn’t come with any motor leads, which it didn’t say in the description so I had to wait again to finish the project it’s going in while more connectors are in the mail.

Steve No. Steering has three positions left, center and right. Throttle has 5. Stop, slow forward, slow reverse, fast forward, fast reverse. The water cannon has on and off.

package was very mangled. no outer packaging just thrown in a plastic bag. luckily nothing inside was damaged.

I used them in my EPP Yak 55. so far they are holding up well. they have good speed for a 3D plane and plenty of torque
