SRamakrishnan it is because of AC transformer winding. some transformers has few more winding and the AC input voltage will be slightly more which could give higher output voltages. no need to worry. 27 is normal. if you still want 30 or more voltage, you can I create the main filter capacitor or change transfer . you can use 15 -0-15, which gives you 34 voltage

SRamakrishnan no. 24 0 24 makes 48 volt. that will burn the IC. it's 12 0 12 or 0-24 v. you can connect 2 terminals 0 and any one of 24v, will work
