Just received this balancer after waiting > 1 month as a replacement for another maglev balancer which I couldn't use because the threadded shaft was too thick for any of my blades. Overall the unit is ok, but for buyers, here are a few things you should be aware of: #1 - I got a bent maglev shaft, it's not bent much, and it's thin... but still, you're buying this for *precision*, and it's not a part you can find anywhere else. #2 - The bearings for the main balancing apparatus aren't fantastic. You could feel some discernible grit in the ones I got. #3 - The main apparatus is very bottom heavy. I hadn't thought about this when I bought it, but because the weight is distributed significantly below the balance point, it means that on the main balancer, it's harder to determine if you're out of balance, everything is more likely to be near center. #4 - I'm disappointed that I can't balance my tail blades, the threaded rod for the maglev portion is too thick. I'm not entirely surprised, just disappointed. On the plus side, My 450L blades do fit onto the maglev threaded rod, which means I don't need to use the big main balancer portion, which is a plus. The maglev rod is ~2.75 - 2.80mm in thickness, for anybody who needs a reference point as to whether or not it'll fit their gear (the second smallest screw size on the main balancer).
