Not great design, has reciver style plug as if it doesn't require a speed controller which it does. Besides the wpl controller there is none available that directly fit. With minor modifications any speed controller or winch controller will work. It took me a minute to realize that it mounts between bumper brackets. Don't buy metal brackets or it won't fit. Assembly distorted plastic and overall look is not of quality.

Really nice winch. Strong for its size and tiny motor, can pull more than 3 kg. You will need an ESC or winch-controller to run this winch. But there are some downsides: Assembly is not that easy, plastic parts have to be cleaned (or sanded), to make it work (at least in my winch). The winch comes with wrong screws for mounting the plastic plate/spindle to the metal plate of the motor-gearbox. You will need short M1.5 machine thread screws for this, the winch comes with "plastic/wood thread" (which will destroy the thread in the metal plate of the gearbox). Use 1.5 mm machine thread screws for this! I really do not know how to mount the winch on a truck. It does not have any mounting options or holes. It will NOT fit to the holes on the WPL C34 metal front-bumper and it also is too narrow to fit on a WPL frame. Will have to make a kind of mounting plate or mounting bracket and screw the winch in this plate. Furthermore, the plug/wires coming with this kit are a kind of strange, too. A "normal servo plug", but with plus and minus wire on the outer pins. Do NOT plug this in a normal receiver! I used normal red JST plugs to connect the winch to an ESC.
