The clamps do work. They hold thinks together and do not open upon fibration. Very good: the screw at the end of the metal bar, so you can remove the red part of the clamp. Now, some disappointments: the press is very small. Not even two fingers fit onto the press trigger, so it is hard to release them (compared to Bessey's, three fingers fit easily). Also, the are very "fat" (again, compared to the Bessey) so four of those take up the same space as five of Bessey's on my french cleat.
