I got It as it was very cheap to buy, but I must say the built is good, spring is very hard so it gives a good hold and zigzag teethes are also good which gives good grip. I would say go for it as it is very cheap and will only help to you to mount the camera.

The hat clip is very strong. The camera is solidly held in place and does not move. Clip can be turned 90 degrees to attach on backpack strap. Very satisfied.

this Clap should Be Fine for the casual trekking ... I don't think it will work that good for the the EX-treem X-games type of filming . Only down side is that it DID NOT come with the mounting screw ...
