I don't think I have correct feature on my phone. But would not work on laptop either. Problem is, the unit gives no indication if it is getting power. An led would be nice to see if it's at least getting power from the usb connection. Very difficult determining if the unit is the problem, or what it's plugged into won't support it. For a phone there is a link to an app that will test, but no help for a Windows laptop which doesn't even see that the usb is plugged in. Most likely my problem not the unit.
