This marking rule is clearer and much better for precision work than the rigid aluminum types. The only downside is that the rule part is extremely thin (0.3mm), less than half the thickness of a typical steel rule (~0.75mm). To give an idea of how thin and flexible it is, if you lift the 200mm version up from a surface, holding the black end, the other tip of the rule will droop by around 3cm. Because of this thinness, it will be more prone to dents and folding if not taken care of properly. It is a good quality tool, but you should only buy it if you are sure you will take care of it.
