It took me a while to find out that the wobbly fake plastic "lens" thing is actually a focus control. The case feels nice and a little rubbery although the silver camera hole seems loose. Maybe it got hit in transportation but the camera works fine despite that feel. The recorded video is stable with the case even if I shake the "lens" so I don't really care as it does not affect the performance. The focus range is quite good from about 3cm (measured from the center of the case) to very far. It worked just out of the box as advertised using a Linux PC and the tools mentioned for raspberry pi. I now use it with VLC and video4linux2. According to the software the max. resolution is 640x480 at 30 frames/sec. There is some delay which is no problem for my application. I wished the cable was a bit longer but I had a USB cable extension laying around so again not a show stopper. Overall an amazing little thing for that price.

Good value for the money. I use it with octoprint and it does the job. Not a perfect performance in low light, so you need to consider aditional LED ilumination of your hotbed. Seems to be using quite a lot of CPU on RPi model B, so better use some more powerfull berry.

Tested with linux, works right out of the box. With manual focus, very close objects appear nice. Lens thread is a bit loose but it is ok. Frame rate is between 6-8 fps with all settings for format and frame size. Good for its price for low fps projects.

Disappointing to say the least. False "8.0 Megapixels" written on the lens. Must twist to focus picture. Shallow depth of field. Image appeared as a mirror on my system. Find another camera. Disregard reviews which praise this product.
