I bought this dummy camera with the intention of installing a real camera inside. This housing seems like it will work very nicely for the purpose. The metal latch flips up and allows the top half of the housing to swing open, making access to the inside quite simple. My intention is to remove the internal battery holder which can only hold two AA batteries or a total of only 3 volts DC, and use the provided access hole to run video out and DC power in. I won't be using the solar panel, which is a good thing, since mine does not seem to be outputting anything more than a few millivolts even with exposure to bright light. The fake lens in the front assembly pops out easily, and a compact camera can be aimed through that hole, so very little disassembly is needed. If you needed genuine IR illumination for night vision, you would need to remove the front assembly and replace it with a genuine array of infrared LED's, plus (optionally) the blinking visible activity LED. But I plan to mount my camera around 50 feet in the air on an antenna tower, so IR illumination would not work anyway, and so I won't have to worry about that. All in all, this is a very satisfactory housing for my purposes.

Elle clignote depuis plusieurs jours dehors... Elle fait vraiment illusion. Comme précisé, il faut lui ajouter 2 piles rechargeables qui ne sont pas fournies. Je ne peux pas encore dire si la recharge solaire fonctionne, mais au pire un petit coup de chargeur à la maison et c'est reparti.
