Easy to install with included screws and anchors and easy turn on (and off) using the pin. I think the dim always-on-at-night light is just about the right brightness to give a little light, but not bother anyone. It is less than moonlight. When the motion sensor kicks in and it goes to bright, it is bright enough to see where you are going for at least 10 -15 feet and stays on long enough to walk by and then turns itself off after a few seconds. The only problem is that I live in Canada, so I don't get very much sunlight in the winter. The light dies sometime in the night, so it doesn't work in the morning. I think it would work better in sunnier climates, but it works well for me when I get home late and need to see the door keyhole. I have another lamp very similar to this, but that doesn't have the aways-on dim mode. That one works great as it only turns on when there is motion, so it always works. I like that better, and wish this one would just turn off when there is no motion.
